How Pei Kim overcame her hearing disability

Celebrating #InternationalWeekoftheDeaf with Pei Kim, who has been part of the Decathlon Singapore family for almost 4 years! Although she's born hearing impaired, she never lets this deter her passion for sport.

One of the challenges she faced in store is not being able to hear what customers say with their masks on and social distancing measures in place. However, with the help and support from other teammates, she is able to share her sport knowledge about football and badminton.

With International Week of the Deaf celebrated on Sept 19, Ms Aw said:

My hope is that people like me can see beyond their disabilities and know that they can impact others in many ways.

It has been a very fulfilling four years at Decathlon. Not only do I help others lead a healthy lifestyle, but my colleagues around me have shown so much support. Some of them even learnt sign language to communicate better with me.

Today, she lives by the motto of "never letting anyone define her worth and happiness" and hopes that those who are also hearing impaired will see beyond their disability to impact others!
