It was the pure love for sports and people that led Andy to join Decathlon as a part timer back in June 2016.

He started off his journey as a Sports Leader in the Racket Department. It was there where he learnt all about the many different racket sports and even developed the ability to restring rackets.

Believing that he should always give 101% in everything, he challeneged himself to become the fastest restringer in Decathlon Singapore and accomplished it.

<9>months into the role, Andy decided to move into the sport that he was most passionate about - Running

Being an avid runner and completing multiple races of varying distances from 5-100km, he wanted to be able to share the love for running and accompany users from all walks of life to find their spark, therefore it prompted his change in department.

After approximately 1.5years in Decathlon Bedok, he was given an opportunity to join the Click & Collect Network of stores in Novena.

As part of the process, he worked closely with the store leader and delved deeper into the understanding of the business.

He had to learn how to choose the right catalog of products, capitalise on the visual merchandising due to space constraints and deliver profitable results.

One of his best memories from this experience was being recognised to have acquired the right capabilities through being empowered by his store leader to plan and execute the visual merchandising of the second C&C Store in Shanghai, China.

His experience and skills that were built during his time at Novena proved to be valuable as it increased his confidence and acclerated his growth.

In March 2020, he was entrusted with the responsibility to become the Department Manager of Running in Singapore Lab.

The role comprised of 2 main pillars: 1-Growth of Teammates 2-Growth of Business

Recruiting and leading a team of 12, training, equiping and developing them while guaranteeing the business was challenging but seeing how each teammate grew in the process, fuelled his level of fulfilment and gave him so much purpose.

In this time, he continued his journey of learning by taking on the role of supply relay where he uncovered the fundamentals behind the stock availability and rotation of products.

Today, Andy is part of the Regional Supply Chain and Category Analyst team in Decathlon South-East Asia where he overlooks the catalog and supply functions for Trail and Road Running.

His role entails looking into the market of 7 countries, understanding their needs and specificities, thereafter proposing the right catalog of products that will benefit the users in this region.

Furthermore, he also forecasts the demand and is responsible for the availability of the products in the stores while planning for economic sustainability of the sport for the future.
